BRAC University career fair draws 60 employers, job offers and internships
The two-day 'BRAC University Career Fair 2025' concluded at the university's Merul Badda campus on Thursday, 4 December 2025, bringing together more than 60 prominent employers and generating multiple internship placements and on-the-spot job offers.
City Bank PLC, Banglalink, BSRM, Apex, BRAC Bank, BRAC, Chevron, bKash, Berger, ACI, and Square were among the leading organisations that participated.
Organised by the Office of Career Services and Alumni Relations, the fair allowed students and graduates to meet industry professionals, explore job prospects, and build professional networks.
Speaking at the inauguration, Vice-Chancellor Professor Syed Farhat Anwar stated that BRAC University teaches students practical life skills 'from sweeping floors to serving as executives', emphasising honesty, social contribution, and global relevance. He added that the university is working closely with BRAC on social innovation, advancing the SDGs, and promoting ESG adoption across industries.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Syed Arshad Mahmud Chowdhury stated that the university aims to make internships mandatory for all programmes and tailor curricula to industry requirements.
Addressing students, Nishat Anwar, Head of Human Resources at City Bank PLC, said: 'Your first job may not be your dream job. But to build a good career, you must be disciplined, patient, and willing to step out of your comfort zone.' She encouraged students to build confidence and develop themselves 'as a brand'.
Registrar, Dr David Dowland, and Joint Director of Student Life, Tahsina Rahman, also spoke. The event was attended by Treasurer, Ariful Islam; Professor Mohammad Mujibul Haque, Dean of BRAC Business School; Professor Md Golam Samdani Fakir, Director of the Learning and Teaching Innovation Centre; and Khairul Basher, Director of the Office of Communications.
In a session titled 'Spotlight by City Bank', Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking, Md Arup Haider, advised participants on career preparation for the banking sector, stressing communication skills, responsibility, transparency, and respect for others.
