Bangladesh Maritime University holds orientation of new students
New students were orientated for the 2024-2025 academic sessions at Bangladesh Maritime University, a maritime-specialised public university in the country, on 04 May 2025 at Shahid Moazzem Hall of BN College, located in Mirpur-14, Dhaka.
The orientation was attended by the university's 9th batch of BSc (Hons) in Oceanography, 8th batch of BSc in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering, 7th batch of BBA in Port Management and Logistics, 7th batch of LLB in Maritime Law and 6th batch of BSc in Fisheries students.
The Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the university, Rear Admiral Ashraful Hoq Chowdhury, NBP, OSP, BCGM, ndu, afwc, psc, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The guardians of new students, the treasurer, the Registrar, the deans of faculties, the academic advisor, the senior professors, the faculty members, the directors, the officers, and the employees will also be present at the event. The university's Registrar, Commodore Mohammad Ehsanullah Khan, delivered the welcome speech at the event.
At the fresher reception, the university's Cultural Club performed the national anthem, a video documentary on the university was screened, different lecture sessions on guiding rules and regulations, security, examination rules, financial matters, use of educational software, online library access and various other topics were arranged at the orientation ceremony.
At the ceremony, the new students expressed joy and deep excitement about the opportunity to enrol in this specialised university, and their parents expressed deep satisfaction with their children's bright prospects.
In addition to the opportunities for maritime higher education, they also expressed satisfaction with the assurance of a disciplined and safe environment under the overall supervision of the armed forces, including the Bangladesh Navy.
