Bangladesh to host first-ever esg bootcamp for corporate leaders

The first-ever ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Bootcamp in Bangladesh is scheduled to take place from July 25 to 27, 2025, at the BRAC CDM, Rajendrapur.
The landmark residential event will bring together over 200 corporate participants from sectors including FMCG, manufacturing, RMG, maritime, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and financial services.
Hosted by the ESG Institute Bangladesh, the Bootcamp aims to reshape the private sector's approach to sustainability, governance, and ethics. Participants will engage in workshops, keynotes, panel discussions, and training sessions led by local and international experts in ESG and sustainability.
"This is more than a platform—it's a movement," said Sadia Samira, Chairman of the ESG Institute Bangladesh, at a press conference held on 29 June. "It connects global principles to local realities and urges businesses to lead with honesty, transparency, and purpose."
Shadman Sakib Anik, Executive Director of the institute, stressed the practical value of the Bootcamp, focusing on tools for climate risk mitigation, anti-corruption compliance, and international ESG disclosure standards tailored to the Bangladeshi context.
United Nations Global Compact Network Bangladesh (UN GCNB) has joined as a session partner, with a focus on governance and anti-corruption. Programme Manager Mabrur Mujib Chowdhury introduced the Anti-Corruption Collective Action Project as a key initiative aimed at enhancing corporate integrity.
Swisscontact Bangladesh, through its PROGRESS project, will host a dedicated session on green transition and sustainability reporting. It will highlight global reporting frameworks and help companies align local ESG goals with investor and supply chain expectations.
Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the outreach partner for publicly listed companies, is also backing the initiative. "ESG is now central to long-term value creation and investor confidence," said Acting Managing Director Sattique Ahmed Shah.
The Bootcamp will include "ESG Dialogue" sessions and launch the Bangladesh ESG Casebook, featuring research and corporate case studies developed in partnership with academic institutions.
Registration and sponsorship opportunities are now available for companies seeking to future-proof their operations through credible ESG integration and sector-specific insights.
