Bangladesh Biman posts record unaudited profit in FY2024–25

Marking a historic achievement, national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd has posted an unaudited profit of Tk 937 crore for FY2024–25—the highest in its 55-year history.
The airline attributed the milestone to prudent resource stewardship, deliberate strategy, and consistent enhancements in passenger service, and expressed gratitude to its passengers and customers for their trust.
Biman's revenue reached Tk 11,631.37 crore in the fiscal year 2024–2025. The airline first crossed the Tk 10,000 crore revenue mark in the 2023–2024 fiscal year. The previous second-highest annual profit was Tk 440 crore in the 2021–2022 fiscal year.
Founded in 1972 with revenue of Tk 1.90 crore, Biman has achieved profits in 26 of the past 55 years. Since its conversion from a corporation to a public limited company in 2007, the airline has amassed a total profit of Tk 589 crore over 18 years, highlighting improved stability and long-term performance.

- Maintenance: In-country expertise from line maintenance to major checks, reducing costs and turnaround times while meeting international safety standards.

- Sales: January 2025 marked Biman's highest monthly ticket sales on record.
- Service: Faster baggage delivery, upgraded in-flight service, and streamlined airport processes have boosted customer satisfaction; the airline continues to uphold a strong safety record.
Biman stated that under the interim government, new management initiatives—stricter financial controls, optimised asset allocation, and swifter decision-making—fueled this year's record profit. Recent years have also seen fleet modernisation, the expansion of lucrative international routes, and enhanced customer service, all of which have been recognised by national media and aviation experts.
The airline plans to open new high-demand routes, advance digital transformation across passenger and operational touchpoints, and enhance its cargo operations. Biman says its goal is to uphold national pride while delivering world-class service, reliability, and safety, and to become a leading airline in South Asia.
