Bangladesh Bank, Jamuna Bank partner to promote entrepreneurship
A month-long Entrepreneurship Development Programme has been inaugurated in Jhenaidah on Thursday (30 October 2025), jointly organised by Bangladesh Bank and Jamuna Bank PLC under the slogan "Udyokta Hobo, Desh Gorbo."
The initiative has been launched under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation (SICIP) project of the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Md Shahidul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer of Jamuna Bank PLC, presided over the inaugural ceremony. Md Nazrul Islam, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank and Project Director of SICIP, attended as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the event. Md Samsul Alam, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, was present as the special guest.
Also present were N H M Nusrat, Head of SME (Marketing), and Mohammad Kabir Hossain, Khulna Area Head of Jamuna Bank PLC, along with senior officials from both organisations.
The programme aims to enhance the skills and capacities of new and existing entrepreneurs through training and financial support. Participants will gain practical knowledge in business management, helping them access formal banking services and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
Guests at the event expressed optimism that the initiative will play a vital role in strengthening local entrepreneurship and promoting financial inclusion.
