BAEC officers’ association election held
Md Golam Mahbub and ATM Golam Kibria have been elected president and general secretary, respectively, of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission Officers' Association for 2026.
The election took place at the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission head office in Dhaka on Tuesday (5 May), according to a press release.
Mahbub, who heads the administration division of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Construction Project, and Kibria, head of the administration division at BAEC in Dhaka, were elected from the Mahbub-Kibria panel.
Other candidates elected from the same panel are: Mahmud Hosen (senior vice-president); Masud Rana Mondal (finance secretary); Mohammed Shamsuddoha (joint secretary); Mukti Masud Rana Nasim (cultural and sports secretary); Maruf Hossain (office secretary); Md Solaiman Miah (information and publication secretary); and Mosammat Rojina Parvin (women's affairs secretary).
Md Habibur Rahman, Masud Al Aftab, Md Abu Taher, and Md Altaf Hossain were elected as executive committee members from the panel.
Among independent candidates, Md Akibar Rahman Molla was elected vice-president, while Saikat Ahmed was elected as an executive committee member.
Officers of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission head office and other institutions in Dhaka, as well as those of commission-run institutions in various districts, cast their votes in a festive atmosphere to elect their representatives for the next two years.
