AKS earns Guinness record for producing 52 steel rebars in one minute
AKS said it received Guinness World Records recognition for producing 52 steel rebars in one minute.
Each rebar measured 108 metres, according to a press release. Guinness World Records recognised AKS for the "Most Steel Rebars Produced in One Minute" after the company said it produced 52 rebars in one minute.
The company attributed the achievement to its high-speed rebar rolling mill, advanced manufacturing technology, precision engineering and production processes.
"This Guinness World Records achievement represents far more than a milestone for AKS. It is a recognition of Bangladesh's growing industrial strength, engineering expertise and manufacturing excellence on the global stage," said Imran Momin, Chief Executive Officer of Abul Khair Steel Melting Ltd (AKSML).
"This accomplishment reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation and the dedication of our people. We remain committed to delivering the highest-quality steel while continuously raising industry standards for the future," he added.
AKS said its electric arc furnace technology enabled it to produce fully refined steel while maintaining consistent quality and complying with international manufacturing standards.
The company also said it operated a zero-water-discharge system under which process water was treated and recycled within its production facilities.
Its other environmental and operational measures include the use of solar energy, a fume-treatment plant for emission control, recycling practices and a captive power plant.
AKS said the initiatives formed part of its efforts to improve resource management and promote environmentally sustainable manufacturing.
The company said the Guinness World Records recognition reflected Bangladesh's growing capacity as a globally competitive manufacturing nation.
