AIB completes month-long entrepreneur training programme
The closing ceremony of a month-long Entrepreneur Development Training Programme organised by Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC (AIB) under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP) of the Ministry of Finance and the Bangladesh Bank was held at the bank's Training Institute.
At the event, certificates were distributed among 25 trained small entrepreneurs, and future business development plans were presented.
Hosne Ara Shikha, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, attended the programme as chief guest, while Md Nazrul Islam, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank and Project Director of SICIP, was present as special guest. The programme was presided over by Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Al-Arafah Islami Bank.
In her address, Hosne Ara Shikha stated that such training programmes are crucial for strengthening and dynamising the country's SME sector. She highlighted their role in developing entrepreneurial skills, promoting financial inclusion, and supporting sustainable business growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan stated that enhancing the skills of grassroots entrepreneurs is essential for sustainable economic development. He stated that the bank continues to support entrepreneurs through its SME and investment activities.
Among others present were S M Abu Jafar, Deputy Managing Director of the bank; Md Abdur Rahim Duary, Principal of the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Training Institute (AIBTI); Md Amzad Hossain, Executive Vice President; and other senior officials.
A total of 25 new and aspiring entrepreneurs from Keraniganj and Dhaka South participated in the training programme. The course covered topics such as business plan preparation, capital budgeting, accounting, assessment of working capital requirements, feasibility studies, marketing strategies, delivery channels, hands-on business analysis, and case studies of successful enterprises.
Al-Arafah Islami Bank said it will continue to contribute to entrepreneurship development and socio-economic progress through similar initiatives in the future.
