AAUB marks 7th raising day in Lalmonirhat
Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh, marked its 7th Raising Day with a series of events at its Lalmonirhat campus on Saturday, 2 May, underscoring its rapid progress and growing ambitions in the aviation sector.
Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu attended as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the day's proceedings.
In his remarks, the minister praised the university's achievements and its swift advancement over a relatively short period.
He stated that the university is poised to play a transformative role in advancing education, the economy and communication infrastructure in Lalmonirhat, while opening new horizons for Bangladesh's aviation and aerospace sectors.
The minister also expressed satisfaction after touring the university's modern laboratories, research facilities and academic infrastructure.
He encouraged students to pursue their studies with confidence and dedication, expressing hope that they would contribute to the nation's advancement in aviation and aerospace.
He urged faculty to foster values of humanity and patriotism alongside academic excellence, and assured university authorities of his continued support for the university's overall development.
Vice-Chancellor Air Vice Marshal M Mustafizur Rahman welcomed the minister upon arrival and saw him off at the programme's conclusion.
As part of the celebrations, the university launched its flagship magazine, "Space & Beyond". A student cultural performance added vibrancy to the event.
The programme drew the divisional commissioner of Rangpur, senior government and military officials, local dignitaries, and members of the university community.
The university commenced operations in 2019 at the old airport building in Tejgaon. It officially launched undergraduate academic activities at the Lalmonirhat campus on 3 July 2022.
Currently, the university offers 4 undergraduate and 5 postgraduate programmes across 4 faculties.
