Aamra Nari Research and Development, and the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Government of Bangladesh are collaborating to organise a breast cancer awareness seminar tomorrow (14 November). 

This seminar will be conducted with female officials from nine departments and directorates under the ministry, reads a press release. 

Aamra Nari is a non-political, non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and conducting social welfare and developmental activities. Its affiliate, Aamra Nari Research and Development, plays an active role in raising awareness about women's rights, health, education, and food safety.

In observance of October as International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Aamra Nari and Aamra Nari Research and Development have been hosting a series of these seminars across Dhaka and other areas in the country throughout October and November. Through this initiative, the public, especially women, is informed about the importance of early detection and prevention. Our goal is to build a health-conscious future generation. These seminars are held in government and private corporate offices, as well as educational institutions, allowing us to reach people from diverse backgrounds. This is a collaborative effort aimed at spreading awareness by including students and professionals.

The media's active role is crucial in strengthening and enhancing our activities. Ittefaq, The Bangladesh Post, Ekattor TV, and Dhaka Mail are partnering with us in this initiative. Journalists, newspapers, and other media platforms are vital participants in this campaign, and we look forward to your support. By covering and sharing our awareness campaign, you will help expand our message and support this social cause.

Distinguished guests attending the seminar will include Md Hamidur Rahman Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Public Works; Md. Abdur Rahman Torafdar, Additional Secretary; Shakila Zerin Ahmed, Additional Secretary; Shahnaz Samad, Additional Secretary; Syeda Farhana Kawnain and Mohammad Shamim Akhtar from the Ministry of Housing and Public Works; along with the Chief Engineer and other officials from the Public Works Department.
On behalf of the organizers, Dr Umme Humayra Kaneta, breast cancer specialist and MS Resident, Phase B in Surgical Oncology at the National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital (NICRH), and M M Zahidur Rahman (Biplob), Founder and Chief Coordinator of Aamra Nari and Aamra Nari Research and Development, will also be present at the event.
