2nd Int’l conference on ICT for Sustainable Development held at BUP

The 2nd international conference on 'Information and Communication Technology for Sustainable Development' was held at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) on 21 September.
Education Minister Dipu Moni inaugurated the conference as the chief guest through video conference, reads a press release.
Vice Chancellor of BUP Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam was present in the ceremony as the chief patron. Dr Kamal Zuhairi bin Zamli, professor and deputy vice chancellor, University of Malaysia Pahang; Kamal Quadir, CEO bKash Ltd; Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone Ltd; and Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzaque, director, Research & Policy Integration (RAPID) delivered keynote papers in the inaugural ceremony.
BUP military and civil high officials, faculty members, and students along with invited guests from home and abroad attended the ceremony.

The three-day-long international conference has been planned to organise by the Department of Information and Communication Engineering of BUP.
The theme of the conference is 'Shaping a sustainable future through advancement in information and communication technology' which will ultimately support the government's vision of building a Smart Bangladesh.
The conference has already attracted 287 research papers from 15 different countries on "Scope of ICT in Healthcare, Education, Business, Agriculture, Industry, and Smart City", amongst which a total of 100 papers would be presented in the conference.
To foster a congenial environment in exchanging scientific, technical, and engineering ideas amongst academia and industries, this conference has also included an industry exhibition. The closing ceremony of this highly treasured international conference will be held on 23 September.
