27 journalists honoured for outstanding work
A total of twenty-seven journalists from print, online and electronic media have won the "Nagad–DRU Best Reporting Award 2025".
The award ceremony, organised in association with Nagad, one of the country's leading mobile financial service providers, was held on Sunday at 11am at the International Mother Language Institute auditorium in the capital's Segunbagicha.
Finance adviser to the interim government and renowned economist Dr Salehuddin Ahmed attended the event as the chief guest. Chairman of Nagad's Board of Directors Kaiser Ahmed Chowdhury was present as a special guest, while Nagad Administrator Md Motasem Billah attended as the guest of honour. Members of Nagad's board, senior journalists, policymakers and distinguished guests from various sectors were also present.
From nominations submitted across twenty-four categories, twenty-seven reports were selected for awards, with two categories having joint winners. Reports published or broadcast between 1 September, 2024, and 30 October, 2025, were eligible for nomination.

The event was presided over by Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) President Abu Saleh Akon, while DRU General Secretary Mynul Hasan Sohel delivered the welcome address.
The ten-member jury board for the awards was chaired by Shamsul Huq Zahid, editor of The Financial Express.
Nagad, the digital financial service of the Bangladesh Postal Department, previously supported the DRU Best Reporting Award in 2021. As a homegrown service, Nagad said it remains committed to supporting journalists' professional growth and recognition in Bangladesh.
