Budget has allocations for all despite resource constraints: Khosru
No one has been left outside the scope of this budget, says Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said the proposed FY27 national budget includes provisions for all sections of society despite the country's resource constraints.
Speaking at a post-budget press conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka today (12 June), Khosru said the budget had been prepared with every citizen in mind.
"Everyone has been considered while preparing this budget proposal. No one has been left outside the scope of this budget," he said.
The minister said the BNP government's guiding principle was the "democratisation of the economy."
In the past the economy had largely served "certain individuals or organised groups," he added.
Khosru unveiled a Tk9.38 lakh crore budget in parliament for FY2026-27 yesterday, outlining plans to stabilise the economy, support recovery and place the country on a higher growth trajectory.
