Sarder Akhter promoted to DMD of Bank Asia
Sarder Akhter Hamed has been promoted as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Bank Asia Ltd. Hamed, a veteran in the Banking industry, joined Bank Asia in 2015 as Senior Executive Vice President.
Hamed is an M.Com in Finance & Banking from the University of Dhaka. He started his career in 1995 with British American Tobacco Bangladesh.
In 2005, he moved to BRAC Bank Limited. Later on, he served as Head of Retail Banking in the United Commercial Bank Limited before joining Bank Asia Ltd. Hamed has multifarious experience in the fields of MSME, Retail, Agriculture and Channel Banking operation.

In Bank Asia, he is leading, among others, one of the largest agent banking networks of Bangladesh and maintaining partnership with significant national and international development agencies.
He spearheaded strategic partnership with General Post Office which resulted in a potential business arena and initiated new business innovation with Micro Merchant application to reach banking services at the last yard of customers.
