HSBC Bangladesh to get first ever local CEO
Mahbub-ur Rahman will take over Francois de Maricourt, now the acting as chief executive of the bank
HSBC Bangladesh has appointed Md Mahbub-ur Rahman as its first ever home-grown chief executive officer (CEO).
Presently, he has been serving the banking and financial services organisation as its deputy chief executive officer.
Mahbub will take over Francois de Maricourt, now the acting as chief executive of HSBC Bangladesh.

A source said the central bank received an application from HSBC Bangladesh, seeking its nod for appointing Mahbub-ur Rahman as the bank's new CEO.
On Thursday last, Governor Fazle Kabir approved the application, said a Bangladesh Bank insider.
In April 2016, Mahbub had been appointed as the deputy chief executive officer and country head of commercial banking for HSBC Bangladesh.
With more than two decades of experience as a banker, Mahbub brings expertise in commercial and corporate banking, global trade and receivables and payments and cash management to his assignment.
Prior to his current task, Mahbub was the country head of commercial banking for HSBC in Malaysia.
He completed bachelor's and master's in finance from the University of Dhaka. He also holds an executive MBA degree from Kellogg-HKUST.
Mahbub-ur Rahman had previously headed commercial banking for HSBC Bangladesh from 2006 to 2014, leading the business through a period of transformational growth, the bank said.
