Passengers to pay airport security and development fees from Aug 1

All domestic flight passengers will have to pay an airport development fee of Tk100 and passenger safety fee of Tk70 per trip from August 1. Additional fees for other passengers

Passengers will have to pay passenger safety and airport development fees to travel from any airport in Bangladesh from August 1.

"The fee will be taken from August 1," according to a press release issued by the aviation authority on Wednesday.

The issued release said, in the case of civil aviation, all outbound passengers will have to pay this fee.

Passengers who travel within the country will have to pay an airport development fee of Tk100 and passenger safety fee of Tk70 per trip.

For travel to Saarc countries, passengers will have to pay $5 for airport development and $6 for passenger safety. For countries other than Saarc, the airport development fee is $10 and the passenger safety fee is $10.

The order has been signed by Director (Finance) of the Civil Aviation Authority, Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, and has already been sent to all domestic and foreign airlines.
