Jubo Dal leader expelled over alleged attack on women in Mohakhali hotel
Following the incident, the hotel authorities filed a case against the accused on the same night

Jubo Dal has expelled its Banani unit convener after he and a group of activists allegedly attacked two women inside a hotel in Mohakhali, under Dhaka's Banani Police Station area on Wednesday night (2 July).
Banani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Rasel Sarwar told Prothom Alo that the group entered the Hotel Zakaria International Limited, under the leadership of Jubo Dal leader Monir Hossain.
"Following the incident, the hotel authorities filed a case against the accused on the same night," the OC added.
A video of the incident, now circulating on Facebook, shows a woman in a saree running down the hotel stairs when a man approaching from the opposite direction blocks her path and strikes her, causing her to fall to the ground.
The footage also captures another woman attempting to flee down the stairs. Several individuals chase her, and one of them grabs and throws her down.
Both women are then seen being assaulted while lying on the floor. About 8 to 10 individuals appear in the video.
During the attack, the women are heard screaming. As some attackers move out of the camera's frame, more individuals enter the scene. Sounds of vandalism inside the hotel can also be heard.
The video sparked widespread condemnation and demands for swift action after it spread online.
In response, Jubo Dal issued a press release on Thursday night, announcing the immediate expulsion of Monir Hossain and the revocation of his primary membership.
The party stated it will not be responsible for any misconduct committed by expelled members and directed all workers to sever organisational ties with him.
It also urged law enforcement to take appropriate legal action against those involved.
According to hotel sources, there were two other incidents over the last two days prior to the attack.
They claimed Monir had an altercation with hotel staff on 30 June.
Following that, on 1 July, his associates returned to the hotel, where they allegedly vandalised property and physically assaulted staff.
