Additional Secretary Md Jahidul Islam Bhuiyan has been appointed the new managing director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice regarding his appointment last Sunday.

Jahidul will succeed the incumbent Biman Chief Shafiul Azim, who has been promoted as the Election Commission secretary.

Md Jahidul Islam Bhuiyan is a BCS (Administration) 18th batch officer.

He served as the private secretary of Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Advisor Salman F Rahman for the last five and a half years.

Earlier, Zahidul Islam served in the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Commerce, and Ministry of Expatriate Welfare. He also served as the First Secretary (Labor) at the Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul.
