Milestone crash: Entry restricted at burn institute following public criticism
Members of the Bangladesh Army have been stationed at the entrance since morning, allowing no one to enter without proper identification

In response to widespread criticism yesterday, authorities at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) have imposed stricter entry regulations today (22 July).
Members of the Bangladesh Army have been stationed at the entrance since morning, allowing no one to enter without proper identification.
Journalists were only granted access after showing their ID cards ahead of the scheduled 8am briefing.
Similarly, family members of patients must now provide clear information, including the name of the patient, their relationship, and the specific ward the patient is in. Entry is permitted only after verification of these details.
Yesterday afternoon, an F-7 BGI fighter jet of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into Milestone College campus shortly after taking off from Base Bir Uttom AK Khandker, which led to the death of at least 27 people - including 25 children, a teacher and the pilot - and left more than 170 people with various injuries.
The government has declared a one-day state mourning today (22 July) following the tragic incident.
