GD Assist flying back stranded NRBs to Chicago
The special flight was arranged with support and approval of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB)
GD Assist has arranged to operate a special flight from Dhaka to Chicago. THe flight was scheduled to depart from Dhaka at 7:00pm on Monday and reach Chicago around 10:00am (Chicago local time) on Tuesday.
The special flight was arranged with support and approval of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), according to a press release.
Due to global lockdown, many expatriate Bangladeshis including USA immigrant visa holders are unable to return before the validity of their visa expires. Because of this, they got stranded with lot of worries, the press release said.

Some such first time Immigrant Visa holders requested GD Assist to help them fly to the USA. GD Assist came forward to assist them with all the arrangements of flying them to the USA, the press release read.
Managing Director of GD Assist, Syed Moinuddin Ahmed said that upon receiving formal approval from concerned authorities, GD Assist published a special notice in some newspapers last week urging the stranded NRBs seeking to return to the United States to register for the flight.
"The response was overwhelming and after careful screening of the passports and visa documents, some 200+ passengers, consisting of US immigrant visa holders, US immigrants and green card holders, have been registered for the flight. We are thankful to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) for their unconditional support in this matter," he added.
THe press release said that GD Assist, a venture of Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd, recently carried out a few evacuations of around 250 Bangladeshis from Thailand, Malaysia and India, who were stranded abroad.
