Cyclone Bulbul: Naval warships, medical teams kept ready
The Bangladesh Navy has adopted a comprehensive three-level action plan for after-cyclone rescue
Naval contingents and medical teams have been kept ready to provide emergency rescue, relief and medical assistance in the wake the Cyclone Bulbul, said a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).
Five warships have been kept ready for Barishal, Jhalokathi, Patuakhali, Barguna and Satkhira, three warships for Chattogram, and two worships for the St Martins's Island.
Warships BNS Karnaphuli, Teesta, Padma, LCVP012 and LCVP013 have been deployed for conducting rescue and relief operations in the coastal areas of Khulna region.

Besides, five medical teams and four naval contingents have been kept standby for handling any emergency situation.
Also, warships BNS Shahjalal, Shah Paran and Atandra have been kept ready so those could travel to the affected coastal areas of Chattogram at short notice.
In the meantime, warships BNS Somudra Joy and Somudra Avijan have taken position close to the St Martin's Island with emergency relief items. Moreover, the Bangladesh Navy is providing safe shelter and necessary assistance to the stranded tourists.
The navy ships are equipped to distribute packets of emergency food items containing rice, lentils, soybean oil, flattened rice, puffed rice, jaggery, biscuit, pure drinking water, candles, match box, oral saline and necessary medications.
