Besides, five medical teams and four naval contingents have been kept standby for handling any emergency situation.

Also, warships BNS Shahjalal, Shah Paran and Atandra have been kept ready so those could travel to the affected coastal areas of Chattogram at short notice.

In the meantime, warships BNS Somudra Joy and Somudra Avijan have taken position close to the St Martin's Island with emergency relief items. Moreover, the Bangladesh Navy is providing safe shelter and necessary assistance to the stranded tourists.

The navy ships are equipped to distribute packets of emergency food items containing rice, lentils, soybean oil, flattened rice, puffed rice, jaggery, biscuit, pure drinking water, candles, match box, oral saline and necessary medications.

The Bangladesh Navy has adopted a comprehensive three-level action plan for after-cyclone rescue. All these activities are being carried out in coordination with the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry and the local administration.
