UNO, banker diagnosed with coronavirus in Chandpur

Hajiganj upazila nirbahi officer and a banker have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the district.

Civil surgeon Dr Md Shakhawatullah said on Wednesday that with the two new cases, total coronavirus cases rose to 16 in the district.

He said that the UNO Baishakhi Barua and the banker, 35, a resident of 6 no ward in Hajiganj, are now undergoing treatment in their respective houses.

In the district, seven patients have made recovery and two patients died from coronavirus.

Eight more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours till Wednesday, taking the death toll in the country to 163.

Besides, a record number of 641 more people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 7,103.
