So far, 8,480 people are infected with coronavirus while 173 died from the viral infection in Chattogram

Record 445 Covid-19 cases in one day in Chattogram

Chattogram has recorded the highest number of coronavirus infections in one day with 445 cases on Monday. Of these, 324 are residents of Chattogram metropolis and 121 are residents of different upazilas.

Chattogram Civil Surgeon's Office said on Tuesday morning that two people also died on the same day.

So far, 8,480 people are infected with coronavirus while 173 died from the viral infection in Chattogram.

Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, Chattogram Civil Surgeon, told The Business Standard that 30,604 samples have been tested so far at six labs in Chattogram and Cox's Bazar Medical College. On Monday, 45 out of 151 samples tested positive for Covid-19 in Chattogram University lab, 31 out of 216 samples in Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID), 121 out of 477 samples in Chattogram Medical College, 83 out of 233 in Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, 23 out of 127 in the private Imperial Hospital, 141 out of 280 the Chevron Clinical Laboratory and one tested positive for coronavirus out of 10 samples in Cox's Bazar Medical College.

Among the 121 people identified at the upazila level, four are from Lohagara, seven from Satkania, two from Banshkhali, six from Anwar, seven from Chandnaish, nine from Patiya, six from Boalkhali, six from Raozan, seven from Fatikchhari, 22 from Hathazari, 26 from Mirsarai, five from Swandip and 14 from Shitakunda.

In Chattogram, 59 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. So far 1,024 people have recovered from Covid-19 in Chattogram.
