Four Covid-19 patients leave Thakurgaon to attend jobs in Dhaka, Rangpur

District Health Directorate on Sunday said four coronavirus patients left their homes in Thakurgaon to join their work places in Dhaka and Rangpur.

Sources at District Health Directorate said four people, a 45-year-old man from Sadar Upazila's Gobindapur area, and three youths from Haripur upazila, tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.

The local health authorities found none of them at home as three among them went to Dhaka and one to Rangpur to attend their respective jobs, sources said quoting family members on Sunday.

The samples were collected from the infected people on June 4, and report came on June 13, the sources added.

Thakurgaon Civil Surgeon Dr Md Mahfuzar Rahman said so far 159 people were infected in the district while two of them died from Covid-19.

The samples of 47 people were also sent for coronavirus testing, he added.

Bangladesh on Saturday reported the record new coronavirus cases (3,471) and record deaths (46) in the span of 24 hours until Saturday morning.

The country has so far reported 84,379 coronavirus cases and 1,139 deaths.
