Dr Zafrullah to stay in hospital for another week

Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, who recently recovered from deadly Covid-19, will have to stay in the hospital for the next seven to eight days as he is yet to recover from bacterial infection.

" Dr Zafrullah has no coronavirus infection in his body but has a bacterial infection. He will have to undergo treatment from the hospital for another 7/8 days," said Professor Dr Nazib Mohammad, who along with Professor Dr Brigadier General (Retd) Mamun Mostafi, are treating the veteran physician in Gonoshasthaya Hospital.

Dr Zafrullah's overall health condition is slowly improving. His lung infections are declining and oxygen support is not needed anymore. But it is difficult for him to speak because of a sore throat. He replied in writing. The doctors forbade him to speak, said Dr Nazib on Monday.
