The Deputy Education Minister said at the time that "more than one lakh people had died in the United States of Covid-19. Although more than one lakh people have been infected with Covid-19 in our country, the death rate in our country is still low. This is because people are getting treatment. This proves that coronavirus is under control in our country."

The deputy minister also urged city residents to come to the isolation center before rushing to hospital if they fall ill, he added.

The Deputy Minister of Education thanked Rezaul Karim Chowdhury for setting up the center and said he is not in any state responsibility yet but has come forward in pursuit of humanity. He also requested Rezaul Karim Chowdhury to set up a specialised hospital in Chattogram if he wins the upcoming elections.

At this time, the vice president of Chattogram Medical College Nasir Uddin Mahmud, Vice-president of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Dr. Sheikh Shafiul Azam, Central Organizing Secretary of BMA, A M M Minhazur Rahman, former civil surgeon Sarfaraz Khan Babul were present at the program among others.

The isolation center has 8 doctors, 16 nurses, 8 ward boys, 2 cleaners and 4 security guards. Patients from any area of Chattogram will be treated here. It will have various facilities including oxygen service for Covid-19 patients. There will also be a separate help desk for non-covid patients who will be given first aid.

Local MP Deputy Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel has donated Tk 1 lakh on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to a nearly 200-year-old temple in Chattogram city.
