7 people die with Covid-19 symptoms in Khulna within 24 hours

Seven people, including two women, died in Khulna with Covid-19 like symptoms on Friday. 

They died while undergoing treatment at the Corona Suspected Isolation Ward of Khulna Medical College Hospital.

The samples of the deceased had been collected for Covid-19 test, said Dr Mizanur Rahman, resident physician at Khulna Medical College Hospital and the spokesman of the corona ward.

Dr Mizanur said a man named Firoz Ahmed, 69, was admitted to the Corona Suspected Isolation Ward in the hospital at 7:00 am on Friday with fever and shortness of breath. He died at 8:30 pm while undergoing treatment. Firoz Ahmed was the son of late Maulvi Ahmed Hossain of Tutpara area in Khulna city.

Another person named Kartik, 40, was admitted to the ward at 6:45 pm on Thursday. He died at 6:15 pm on Friday while undergoing treatment. The deceased was identified as the son of late Nitai of Purulia village at Kalia upazila in Narail district.

Meanwhile, a man named Jamshed Alam, 60, was admitted at 2:15 pm on Friday with fever and shortness of breath. Later, he died at 6:15 pm. Jamshed Alam was the son of Md Ahmed, a resident of Ghat No Five area in the city. 

Ruma Begum, 35, was admitted to the hospital at 6:45 pm on Thursday with fever and shortness of breath. She died there at 2:15 pm on Friday. The deceased was identified as the wife of Babul Faraji of Abhaynagar upazila in Jashore district.

Meanwhile, Nasim Ahmed, 60, was admitted to the isolation ward at 3:00 pm on Friday with fever and shortness of breath. He died at 3:45 pm.
Nasim was the son of Mofizuddin Ahmed in Mohammadnagar area of the city.

Earlier on Friday morning, Zarina Begum, 60, and Mohammad Ali, 60, died while undergoing treatment at the isolation ward.

Till Friday, a total of 57 people had died in Khulna with Covid-19 like symptoms so far.
