As coronavirus infections keep surging, 33 physicians were freshly diagnosed with the deadly virus in 24 hours till 9am on Friday. 

With these, 533 physicians have so far been infected with Covid-19 in the country, said Bangladesh Doctors Foundation (BDF) -- a forum of physicians.

Meanwhile, 16 of the infected physicians have recovered from the disease, said Nirupam Das, chief administrator of the foundation.

In Dhaka, 229 physicians from government hospitals, 135 of private hospitals, and 21 from other facilities have been infected with Covid-19.  

Besides, 55 government and 2 private hospital doctors have been infected in Mymensingh, 33 government and 1 private hospital doctors in Chattogram, 22 government hospital doctors in Khulna, 10 government hospital doctors in Barishal, 6 government hospital doctors in Sylhet, and 7 government hospital doctors in Rangpur have been found positive with the virus. 

Some 25 physicians from different facilities have also been infected with the virus.
