Clifton Group, a ready-made garment company, is donating 10 lakh masks in Chattogram to help people amid coronavirus outbreak.

The company is delivering the masks as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

"Five lakh masks have been donated in the port city and different upazilas of Chattogram through various social and cultural organisations. Another five lakh pieces will be donated accordingly," said MDM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, director and chief executive officer of Clifton Group.

"If any organisation wants to make personal protective equipment (PPE), Clifton group will help to do it," he added.

President of Mirsharai Combined Voluntary Organisation Ashraf Uddin said, "Clifton Group provided 1.15 lakh masks in Mirsharai upazila. We sent those masks to remote areas of the upazila through Lions Club."

"This is undoubtedly good news for us that Clifton Group is donating 10 lakh masks. All the industries and capable people should come forward inspired by this initiative," said Advocate Akhter Kabir Chowdhury, president of Socheton Nagorik Committee, Chattogram.
