CA Yunus calls for maintaining national unity braving all adversities
"We have achieved a new Bangladesh through the sacrifices of the new generation, and to preserve it, we must build an even stronger unity," says Muhammad Yunus

Prof Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser of the interim government, has called for maintaining the unity that has been created among the people of the country by overcoming all adversities.
"We have achieved a new Bangladesh through the sacrifices of the new generation, and to preserve it, we must build an even stronger unity," he said this morning (31 March).
He made the remarks while addressing the main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation after offering the Eid prayers at the National Eidgah grounds in the capital.
The chief adviser said, "Eid is a day of closeness and love. I urge all to observe this day well and reach out to everyone. Today is a day to build unshakable unity. We want to build this unity permanently. This is our prayer during the Eid jamaat.
"Today, we will remember and pray for those who have given their lives for the creation of a new Bangladesh. Let us all pray for the forgiveness of their souls."
Yunus said, "I will pray for those who have sacrificed their lives for building the new Bangladesh, and for those who have lost their normal lives due to injuries. To build the Bangladesh of their dreams, we must build national unity. We must work towards becoming a united nation that can move forward together.
"Those who have sacrificed their lives for the dream of a new Bangladesh — we will definitely make their dream come true. No matter the obstacles, we will build a new Bangladesh as a united nation."
He further stated, "Today, Eid prayers are being held in every village, every market, every town, and every city of Bangladesh. On behalf of the nation, I wish everyone a happy Eid. I also wish Eid Mubarak to those who could not join the Eid prayers.
"To the mothers and sisters who are at home, on behalf of the nation, I wish them a happy Eid. To our expatriate brothers and sisters who are abroad, many of them may not be able to participate in the Eid prayers today — I wish them a happy Eid. We have not forgotten those who are in different parts of the world. Eid Mubarak to them as well."

"To those who are receiving treatment in hospitals and could not attend the Eid prayers, I wish them a happy Eid," he added.
The chief adviser continued, "We will also pray for those who have been injured and are disconnected from their normal lives so that they can return to their normal lives."
Afterwards, while leaving the Eidgah, Yunus briefly exchanged greetings with general people.
Earlier, at 8:30am, the chief adviser joined other Advisory Council members, government officials, noted personalities including the chief justice and Supreme Court justices, politicians, diplomats, and armed forces officials to offer the Eid prayers at National Eidgah.
Mufti Mohammad Abdul Malek, the khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, led the prayers, and Muhammad Habibur Rahman, the muezzin of Baitul Mukarram, served as the Qari.
After the prayers, a special prayer was offered for the well-being, happiness, peace, and prosperity of the entire Muslim Ummah, and Bangladesh and its people.
Later in the day, the chief adviser will exchange Eid greetings with dignitaries from different walks of life at the Chief Adviser's Office in Tejgaon from 4pm.
