Your role in freeing the nation from fascist rule will be remembered: CA tells Asif, Mahfuj
“The experience you have gained in government must guide you in your future endeavours,” he told the two advisers who submitted resignations today.
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has praised advisers Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and Mahfuj Alam for their role in the July Uprising, saying their efforts as student leaders in helping free the nation from fascist rule will always be remembered.
The remarks came as the two advisers submitted their resignation letters to the chief adviser today (10 December), effective upon the announcement of the national election schedule, reads a statement from the CA's Press Wing.
After accepting the resignation letters, the chief adviser wished them well in their future lives.
"The way you led the uprising and contributed to freeing the nation from fascist rule will be remembered. I believe you will continue to play an active role in the democratic transition and its advancement in the future as well," he said.
The chief adviser added that today is a historic day and the interim government will always remember their contributions.
"I wish you a bright and prosperous future. The nation will never forget what you have given in such a short time," he said. "This is merely a transition. I hope that in the days ahead, you will make even greater contributions on a broader stage."
Urging them to remain committed to the welfare of the country, the chief adviser added, "The experience you have gained in government must guide you in your future endeavours."
