Woman succumbs to injuries after gas line explosion in Dhamrai
Four members of the same family were admitted to the hospital early today after suffering burn injuries in the incident.
A woman who sustained severe burn injuries in a fire caused by an explosion, apparently triggered by a gas line leak at a house in Dhamrai, died this evening (11 March).
The deceased was identified as Sumana Badsha, 45.
She died around 6:30pm while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said Dr Shaon Bin Rahman, resident physician at the institute.
He said four members of the same family were admitted to the hospital early today after suffering burn injuries in the incident.
Among them, Sumana had suffered 95% burns and succumbed to her injuries in the evening.
The other victims, her husband Badsha Mia, 56, and their two sons, Abu Bakar Siddiq, 16, and Arafat, 22, suffered 3%, 2%, and 2% burns respectively and are currently under observation, the physician added.
