Testimonies in crimes against humanity case against Hasina likely to conclude by October: Prosecutor

The International Crimes Tribunal-1 today (17 August) continued the fourth day of witness testimony in the crimes against humanity case filed over the killings during the July–August uprising, where former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and Former inspector general of police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun stand accused.
The other accused in the case are former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former inspector general of police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun
Former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, who has turned state witness, was also produced before the court.
Earlier, on 6 August, the tribunal concluded the third day of testimony and cross-examinations. On that day, two eyewitnesses gave their depositions.
In addition to this case, the tribunal also heard three other cases from Rampura, Mohammadpur, and Ashulia, where 15 accused were produced. The prosecution requested more time to submit investigation reports in those cases, which the tribunal granted.
