US Army reiterates commitment to strengthen relationship with Bangladesh Army

Lt Gen Joel P Vowell of the US Army met with Bangladesh's Chief of Army Staff, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, during his visit, reinforcing the US Army's commitment to a strong relationship with the Bangladesh Army while highlighting shared security interests and ongoing collaboration.
Discussions between the two military leaders focused on key areas of cooperation, including Bangladesh Army's continued support for domestic security, especially in the face of additional responsibilities such as disaster response, reads a press release.
They also engaged in dialogue on Bangladesh's primary military challenges and explored potential areas where the U.S. could provide support.
The meeting also included discussions on Exercise TIGER LIGHTNING, set to take place in the summer of 2025, and the potential acquisition of U.S.-origin equipment aimed at enhancing interoperability and operational capabilities.
Lt Gen Joel P Vowell also expressed appreciation for the professionalism of the Bangladesh military and underscored the vital role of professional armed forces in maintaining regional stability.
