Tarique offers deepest condolences to victims of Air India plane crash

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has offered his deepest condolences to the victims of the Air India plane which crashed while heading to London minutes after taking off from India's western city of Ahmedabad today (12 June).
Taking to his Facebook profile this evening, Tarique wrote, "It is heartbreaking that a London bound plane, carrying 242 people of many nations, crashed shortly after taking off in India.
"I extend my deepest condolences to the families of all those who lost their loved ones. Let us all stand by them in this time of grief and share our sincerest prayers."
Ahmedabad police chief GS Malik told Reuters that 204 bodies had been recovered from the crash site. As of now, only one survivor has been reported - a 40-year-old Indian origin British national.
