Swechasebak Dal leader detained over alleged theft of RMG goods worth Tk28 lakh from Benapole port

A Swechasebak Dal leader was detained today (12 April) for allegedly stealing ready-made garment (RMG) products worth Tk28 lakh from Benapole Land Port.
"Several individuals, including Swechasebak Dal district committee's joint convener Shiblur Rahman, have been detained as part of an ongoing investigation," Jashore Police Detective Branch (DB) Officer-in-Charge Monjurul Islam Bhuiyan told The Business Standard.
"We are working to uncover the full details of the incident and will provide further information after the operation concludes," he added.
Satkhira Sadar Police Station OC Shamimul Islam said a truck carrying 100 rolls of imported garment materials belonging to Khalilur Rahman & Sons was looted from Benapole port on 6 April.
"The manager of the company, Bulbul Ahmed, filed a complaint with Benapole police the same day," he said
"Police conducted a raid in Satkhira's Binerpota area and successfully recovered the stolen garments, estimated to be worth around Tk28 lakh," Shamimul added.
