A group of students, musicians, and music enthusiasts staged a "protest march of songs" in Dhaka today (8 November), condemning the government's decision to abolish the posts of music and physical education teachers in primary schools.
The procession began at around 4:15pm from the Central Shaheed Minar premises and concluded at Noor Hossain Square after passing through Doel Chattar and the High Court area.
Participants expressed their protest through iconic songs such as "Amra Shobai Raja," "Karar Oi Louho Kopat."
They also urged the government to clarify if the move came under external pressure and demanded the decision be withdrawn immediately.
