Student dies after falling from moving train in Chattogram

A student died after falling from a moving train near the Patiya Railway Station in Chattogram this afternoon (15 May).
The deceased identified as Osman Gani, 20, a resident of Naikati village in Assasuni upazila of Satkhira district, was a student of Dargahpur Siddkia Alim Madrasah.
Confirming the incident, Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Chattogram Railway Police Station, told The Business Standard, "The accident occurred around 4pm. Our team is on-site, and we will be filing an unnatural death case."
Dr Imroz Jahan Anika, a physician at the Patiya Upazila Health Complex, said, "He was brought in with a severe head injury. After examination, we declared him dead."
According to madrasah teacher Nazmul Huda and classmate Hafiz Alauddin, Osman had gone on a trip to Cox's Bazar five days ago with the teacher's wife and five fellow students.
On their way back home today via train through Chattogram, Osman accidentally fell from the moving train near a makeshift hut close to the station, sustaining a severe head injury.
