Dr Shafiqur Rahman, chief of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has called for vigilance to ensure that no ill-intentioned individual can disrupt social peace and order during Durga Puja.

He made the call during a brief stop at Munshi Bazar Bypass in the outskirts of Faridpur this morning (1 September), while on his way to meet the families of those killed in Kushtia during the Anti-discrimination Movement.

"We must remain alert so that no one with malicious intent can harm the social peace and order during Durga Puja," Shafiqur said.
