Sonargaon OC sent on early retirement

Earlier on April 5, Inspector Rafiqul Islam was withdrawn from his duty as OC of Sonargaon police station and was transferred and attached to the Narayanganj police lines

The government has sent Rafiqul Islam, former officer-in-charge (OC) of Sonargaon police station in Narayanganj, on early retirement.

He helped detain Hefazat leader Mamunul Haque along with a woman at a resort recently.

Sonargaon OC transferred

The announcement of his retirement came via a government notice issued by the ministry of home affairs on Monday.

According to the notice, Rafiqul has been sent to retirement under Article 45 of Act 57 of the Bangladesh Government Service Rules 2018 upon completion of his 25 years of service in the force.

The notice also said that Rafiqul will receive all government provided facilities upon retirement as per rules.

Hefazat men snatch Mamunul away after he was held with ‘wife’

Earlier on April 5, Inspector Rafiqul Islam was withdrawn from his duty as OC of Sonargaon police station and was transferred and attached to the Narayanganj police lines.

His transfer order was issued a day after Hefazat-e-Islam leader Mawlana Mamunul Haque's detention along with a woman at a resort in Sonargaon of Narayanganj.
