Shahjahan Miah removed from Dhaka South admin, Wasa MD posts
He has been transferred to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief as an additional secretary
Md Shahjahan Miah has been removed from his posts as both the administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and the managing director of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa).
He was transferred to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief as an additional secretary, according to notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday (29 October).
Shahjahan Miah, also an additional secretary in the Local Government Division, was appointed as the administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation on 13 February this year. Later, on 18 May, he was given the additional charge of Dhaka Wasa's managing director.
He was appointed as the MD of Dhaka Wasa amid the agitation by BNP supporters seeking the party leader Ishraque Hossain be sworn in as the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation.
Shahjahan managed both DSCC and Wasa operations from the Wasa office due to the protests.
