The notification said that while holding the post, he will be entitled to the salary, allowances and other benefits applicable to a state minister
Professor Dr Md Sayedur Rahman has been reappointed as the chief adviser's special assistant for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, just one day after his resignation from the post was formally accepted.
The reappointment was made through a notification issued today (1 January), signed by Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid.
According to the notification, the chief adviser of the interim government appointed Prof Rahman as special assistant to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with the rank of state minister.
He has also been vested with executive authority of the ministry.
The notification said that while holding the post, he will be entitled to the salary, allowances and other benefits applicable to a state minister. The order took effect immediately.
Earlier, a separate notification issued on 30 December last year, said the resignation of Prof Rahman, who was serving as special assistant to the chief adviser, had been accepted.
Prof Rahman was appointed special assistant to the chief adviser in November while serving as VC of Bangladesh Medical University. As part of the retirement process, he had submitted his resignation from the post a month earlier, which was accepted on 30 December.
Following his retirement, the government reappointed him to the same position.
