Robbers abduct two tourists, resort owner in Sundarbans
Dakop police, along with Tourist Police, River Police and Coast Guard, are conducting rescue operations
Two tourists, along with a local resort owner, were abducted by a gang of robbers while travelling inside the Sundarbans in Khulna's Dakop upazila yesterday (2 January).
The abducted individuals are Sripati, owner of the local Gol Kanan Resort, and two tourists, Sohel and Jony, who had travelled from Dhaka.
Dakop Police Station's Officer‑in‑Charge (OC) Atikur Rahman said the two tourists had come from Dhaka to Gol Kanan Resort. When the resort owner took them sightseeing inside the Sundarbans, a gang of robbers abducted them.
Dakop police, along with Tourist Police, River Police and Coast Guard, are conducting rescue operations, he said.
According to local sources, they were abducted near the Western Dangmari area of Baniashanta union in Dakop upazila of Khulna.
