RMG factory official crushed under bus in Ashulia

An admin official of a readymade garments factory has been crushed under wheels of a passenger bus in Narasinghapur area of Ashulia in Dhaka on Thursday evening.

A CCTV camera set up on a roadside high rise captured the tragic incident, which is now making round on social media platforms.  

The deceased was identified as Shamsul Alam, admin officer of Sharmin Garments.

According to the footage, the incident took place at 7:12pm when Shamsul was apparently crossing the road.

While running recklessly to overtake another passenger bus, it run over Shamsul, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later, angry mob protested against the death and set three buses of the same company on fire.

Abdullahil Kafi, additional superintendent of Savar circle police, told The Business Standard that a case has been filed over the accident and the driver is still at large.

The driver had no license, sources said.
