The official reportedly shot himself in the head with his service pistol

A senior official of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) reportedly died by suicide at the force's Chandgaon camp in Chattogram this morning (7 May).
The deceased, identified as Palash Saha, senior assistant superintendent of police and squad commander of the RAB-7 Chandgaon camp, reportedly shot himself in the head with his service pistol around 11:45am. His senior officers and squad members rushed him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) around 12:15pm, where on-duty doctors pronounced him dead, confirmed Nur-e-Alam Ashik, in-charge of the CMCH police outpost.
Ashik said, "According to the officials who brought Palash Saha in critical condition, he withdrew a firearm as part of his preparation to go out for a drive and returned to his office room around 11:30am. While alone in the room, he shot himself in the head."
"The reason behind the suicide is yet to be determined. The body has been sent to the CMCH morgue for autopsy," Ashik added.
However, RAB-7 officials are yet to confirm the incident.
Despite repeated attempts, Senior Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain did not respond to phone calls.
