Purbachol plot scam: 5 more testify in 3 separate cases against Hasina, family, others
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Prosecutor Mohammad Sultan Mahmud confirmed the testimony session and stated, “Witnesses in most of the cases are nearing completion. We hope the verdicts will be delivered soon.”
Testimonies of five more witnesses were recorded today (15 October), on the sixth day of hearings, in three separate cases against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her family members, and other government officials over alleged corruption in plot allocations in Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha's (Rajuk) Purbachal New Model Town.

The accused in the cases include Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, and several others as defendants.
The witnesses appeared before Judge Md Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka's Special Judge Court-5 this morning. As the accused are currently absconding, cross-examination of the witnesses could not take place.
The court has scheduled the next round of witness testimonies for 29 October.
The witnesses included Md Tanzillur Rahman, director (Deputy Secretary), Rajuk; Zahidur Rahman, sub-registrar, Cox's Bazar Sadar; Mahbubur Rahman, sub-registrar, Dhaka Record Room; Md Zakir Hossain, computer operator, Rajuk Stamp Office; and Md Al Mamun Mia, director-2, Office of the Chief Adviser.
The court had framed charges in these cases on 31 July 2025 and ordered the trial to begin the same day. As the accused are absconding, arrest warrants were issued against them.
The three cases involve 12 defendants, including Hasina, 17 including Joy, and 18 including Putul, respectively.
Earlier, on 20 July, the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court sent six cases — three in Special Judge Court-4 and three in Special Judge Court-5 — for trial.
Other defendants include Hasina's sister Sheikh Rehana, Rehana's daughters Tulip Rizwana Siddiq and Azmina Siddiq Rupanti, Rehana's son Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby, Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works Shahid Ulla Khandakar, Additional Secretary (Administration) Kazi Wasi Uddin, administrative officer Saiful Islam Sarkar, Senior Assistant Secretary Purabi Goldar, former RAJUK Chairman Anisur Rahman Mia, former members Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Kabir Al Asad, Tanmoy Das, Nurul Islam, former member Mohammad Nasir Uddin, former member Samsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Director (Estate & Land-2) Sheikh Shahinul Islam, Deputy Directors Hafizur Rahman and Habibur Rahman, former state minister Sharif Ahmed, and former prime minister's private secretary Salauddin.
The ACC filed six separate cases in January 2025 over alleged corruption in Rajuk plot allocations, implicating Hasina, her family members, and several other officials.
