Probe body formed over Khulna ‘gang-rape’
The committee has been asked to submit the report within seven days

Police has formed a three-member committee to investigate the allegation of a gang-rape in police custody in Khulna.
The probe body, led by a female Superintendent of Police, has been asked to submit the report within seven days, said a press release issued by Police Headquarters on Tuesday.
The incident drew the attention of police headquarters after several media published the news on Monday.
On August 2 midnight, a 21-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped in custody by five members of the Government Railway Police (GRP).
The accused policemen include Khulna railway police’s Officer-in-Charge Osman Gani.
The woman told the Khulna judicial magistrate about the gang-rape incident when police produced her before the court on Saturday with an allegation of possessing five bottles of contraband phensedyl.
Later, the court sent her to Khulna Medical College Hospital for medical check-up which was conducted on Monday.
However, refusing the allegation, OC Osman Gani claimed that the arrestee was trying to evade the drug case.
