Portion of laundered money to be recovered before upcoming election: Adviser Salehuddin
The government is prioritising money laundering cases against 12 individuals of the previous government, says Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed.

Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed has said a portion of the money laundered abroad by influential figures of the previous government will be brought back to Bangladesh before the upcoming general election in February.
Speaking to The Business Standard at his finance ministry office today (30 September), the adviser, however, did not specify how much money could be recovered.
Salehuddin said the government is prioritising money laundering cases against 12 individuals of the previous government.
"The process of bringing back money from the UK and Dubai has already started. We are appointing lawyers," he said, adding that the IMF and the World Bank are also assisting Dhaka in recovering the laundered funds.
