Zia family thanks nation for prayers as Khaleda Zia remains in critical condition
In a press statement issued today (29 November), signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the family conveyed its thanks for the sincere prayers and love shown for the former prime minister’s recovery.
The Zia family has expressed its gratitude to people across the country for their prayers and concern for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who remains in a critical condition in the hospital.
In a press statement issued today (29 November), signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the family conveyed its thanks for the sincere prayers and love shown for the former prime minister's recovery.
The statement notes that citizens from all walks of life, regardless of political affiliation, continue to pray for Khaleda Zia's well-being as she undergoes treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital and remains seriously ill.
"The Zia family expresses sincere thanks and deep gratitude to everyone for showing such sincere prayers and love towards the universally respected Begum Khaleda Zia," the statement said.
"At the same time, we earnestly request everyone to continue praying for the speedy recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia."
Khaleda Zia is currently admitted to the coronary care unit (CCU) of Evercare Hospital, where she was taken on Sunday (23 November) after experiencing breathing difficulties and remains under the supervision of a medical board comprising local and foreign specialists. Doctors have confirmed infections in her heart and lungs.
The 80-year-old former prime minister has long suffered from multiple health complications, including heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, liver cirrhosis and kidney-related issues.
