Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus will not stay in power even a day after 30 June 2026, his Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said today (25 May).
Speaking to reporters after Yunus' meeting with leaders of 17 political parties, Shafiqul said, "In the meeting, the chief adviser told political party leaders that 'we are in a state of war'.
"After banning the Awami League, they [people] are not able to accept anything. There is a conspiracy going on inside and outside the country aiming to push us back into subjugation. They're trying destabilise the country," Shafiqul said, quoting the CA.

He added that Yunus has said he would not be part of any action that brings harm to the nation, and that if he failed to hold fair elections, he would feel guilty.
